Getting Involved

You can start by attending one of our Sunday morning services, but don't stop there! Check out one of our upcoming events, join a small group, take an adult ed class, volunteer in an area that uses your gifts and talents... we have dozens of ways to help you connect! Check out what we have to offer:

For Adults
Our assortment of Adult Programs will meet you where you are today - no matter where you are in life. We offer many general adult programs including adult education and small groups along with activities designed specifically for Men or Women.

For Students
Recognizing that each teen is at a different place, we seek to minister to them at their level of spiritual interest and maturity. In order to lead teens to a personal relationship with Christ, we partner together with students and staff to pursue programming that transcends the diversity of spiritual interest and maturity.

For Children
Essex Alliance is a great place for families to grow together in faith in Jesus Christ.  Our Children & Young Families Ministries is here to provide fun, creative and intentional ministries to help kids learn about God's love for them, and to help parents learn how to fulfill their roles as the spiritual leaders of their children. Our mission is to encourage, empower and equip families to grow together spiritually.

Care Ministries
From short-term counseling and visitation by our Care ministry to the meeting of basic needs by our Care Team, these ministries provide counsel, prayer, meals, conversation and encouragement to those who are sick, confined to home or have special needs.

Membership
Twice a year we offer a membership class titled "Getting To Know Essex Alliance Church." In this class we explore questions like who we are, what we do as a church, and why we do it.  We talk about our approach to making our community a better place and the part we are to play in showing people they matter to God.

Missions
Our church body is kept aware of the world-wide missionary work of our church and denomination through Missions Impact Conferences featuring guest missionary speakers and the lobby bulletin board. For further information, call Paul and Sharon Schanely at 802-879-2058.

Volunteer Connection
God gives each of us gifts and talents to use in service to others.  Through Volunteer Connection, you'll find ideas on how to get started, as well as new opportunities if you're looking for a change from your current volunteer activities.

Welcoming Ministries
God loves people and so do we!  From Ushers and Greeters to behind-the-scenes teams like Pencil Crew, these teams of volunteers are dedicated to helping our church family and visitors feel welcome and at home in our facilities.  Our goal is to be ready and available to help guide newcomers toward inclusion into church life and a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.  At the same time we make every effort to protect a visitor's desired degree of anonymity in getting to know us.  Welcoming teams always have room for folks looking for a way to use the talents God gave them in serving others.

Worship and Arts
We love to worship. We consider it a privilege to serve the Lord with our talents. Think you would like to join us? We have many opportunities available, including drama, choir, band, and tech support.
